Oakley Extreme Vehicle Oxv Rhino, SOFTIMAGE|XSI October 2004
This design was made for the annual design contest held by the Motor Trend magazine. The theme for this year was to design a car brought to market by a company that is not currently an automobile producer.
My entry for this year is a small sports utility built (in theory) by Oakley, makers of really nice "cool" sports eyewear and clothing.
Sketching and concept design was made with Corel Draw, 3D modeling in Rhino and rendering with Mental Ray using XSI.
What Im looking for as feedback is if the design is successful in capturing the Oakley branding and that "cool" image their products have. Also would be nice to know if people simply like it or not.
Im thinking that for a later project I will create a composite picture of the car on a beach environment and add some surf boards to it, probably another one with snowboards
